Scripture

Helaman 5:12

And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Hello there Mom and Dad  ......... This week has been really good. We have been working really hard and it is starting to pay off. I was on exchange with the zone leaders and I stopped this 14 yr old kid on the street and talked to him about the Book of Mormon and we set up a return appt with him. Although I was not able to attend the appt cause that is not my area I heard from the zone leaders how amazing the kid is.  He reminded them of Joseph Smith and he just soaked everything in and he is  now going to be baptised.  I could tell when I was talking to him that the gospel was for him as soon as I saw him i thought in my head , '' That's the new teachers quorum president".   What an amazing young man I'll be updating you on how he is doing. Other  than that we really have been finding new people who are ready for the gospel and they all have their small little challenges. but we are here for them.  Recently I have been on this spiritual high, and I don't feel it wearing off at all . I'm determined to find those people who need the gospel and my knowledge of the gospel has increased so much so I feel very comfortable talking with everyone about it.   I learn new things everyday its so amazing to be here and I'm so thankful to the Lord that he is giving me the strength to continue strong. He does answer prayers. Health wise I'm doing amazing nothing is wrong with me just working hard. I miss you guys so much but guess what!! only f4 more weeks till i get to skype with you guys! I'm so excited! i hope all is well with you family:) stay amazing!

Hello there Mom and Dad...... what a wonderful day to be alive aye? lol I'm doing
amazing! this week has been really hard , work wise we've been working so
hard a lot a lot of knocking! and our people didn't get baptised cause they
weren't completely ready so we postponed it. But despite these down sets I'm
doing really good I'm very happy and I'm working hard. I gave a talk this
past week on the book of Mormon, I told my personal experience with it and
I guess it turned out really good because people were coming up
telling me how amazing my talk was and even the stake president! but the
best thing that happened was my ward mission leader pulled me aside and
said''elder armijo I want you to know that my family and the rest of the
ward loves you so much you are an amazing missionary'' that made me so
happy and although we may not be having baptisms, we are changing
peoples lives and I'm very satisfied with that. I made homemade macaroni
this week it turned out pretty good.  I think I'm becoming a chef! but for
Christmas i know your wondering about that well I'm going to have two hours
to skype!! so i sent a letter telling you about all that  I am pretty sure it
will be Christmas day but I'm not sure what time yet or anything i ll find
out when it gets closer to the date! but I'm doing great mom and dad thanks
for all you do it really means a lot and i cannot believe I'm so close to
getting to talk to you guys!! I'm so excited! i don't need anything right now
you guys are fulfilling all my needs! anything i can do for either of you??
love you guys tons!

hello there om and dad! everything is going great for me and my companion were having a blast together and were working so hard! like really hard. Were teaching these two sisters from Trinidad and they are preparing to be baptised on the nineteenth! they are so wonderful and they really ask the best questions. One of them actually had all these questions that  were all very anti Mormon questions so she decided to ask us instead of just stop seeing us which is what most people do so we were really excited that she came to us. they are amazing. other that that were working with a part member family and trying to get their kids baptised. They are a very nice family and we have high hopes for them. We are doing a lot of finding. i mean a lot! knocking for hours , contacting on the streets and we cant seem to find people at all but i know its only a matter of time until the lord puts those people in our paths. I had a funny thing happen this week.....I was bending over to pick up this pass along card i dropped on the ground and i ended up ripping my pants so bad haha in front of all these people.. i was laughing so hard! but Ive never worked as hard as i am right now I'm tired , I'm anxious to find people, upset i cant find people, but I'm so happy to be out on my mission i know these are emotions that with the mission and i prepared myself. i also finished the book of Mormon today. what an amazing book it truly is the word of god . i know it to be true and i really immersed myself in it and was reading it wherever i went i could not put it down. But i know it is true and it strengthened my testimony tremendously. And now ill be reading the new testament( I'm already half way through) it is amazing never would i thought i would love the scriptures so much i guess that's what happens when you actually try something you never have tried before. the ward is so amazing they love missionaries and they would do anything for us i feel a special connection with the people in this ward. i know I'm in Maidstone for a reason there is people here who are waiting for me to bring them the gospel i just have to find them which is the tough part but I'm up for a the challenge! I'm doing great right now i don't need anything except the continuation of your love and support:) it keeps me going and keeps me determined. i love this gospel so much and just lately Ive had this increase of desire to find those people who need the gospel and its going to last for a while. :)

Hello there Mom and Dad! let me say this is going to be an awesome transfer! my companion is so cool  and were having a blast together! It's going to be a transfer filled with miracles! we are working our booties off! and its going to pay off.  There's a lot going on in this area right now and there's definitely more to come! we have a couple baptism dates already and we will be picking up more this coming week! the ward is so awesome the people there remind me of home! they are so loving and very welcoming to a new missionary at first I wasn't sure about this area but I definitely love it here in Maidstone and Ive only been here half a week! Elder Fawson and I tried this thing called preset knocking! where we put fliers through peoples doors and tell them when we will be knocking again so when we go back they are waiting for us :) I'm very excited to see what comes of it! were also doing a thing called smile boarding , where you walk around with a whiteboard with a smile on it and ask people what makes them smile and eventually get talking about the gospel! new exciting ways to find people! I'm so excited for this area to be with Elder Fawson he is the best. We work hard , he understands me , we have the same humor haha but most of all we work hard!  Today is Halloween and we have to be in at a certain time because over here Halloween gets really dodgy and a lot of bad things happen so we will definitely be having a chill night tonight! well i think that's all for now i love you guys so much thanks for all you do for me! you keep me going!  elder armijo

Hello there everyone! this week has been so amazing . A very successful week compared to the past few weeks! but I knew the lord would bless us for working hard.
we've found so many new people this week. were teaching this lady called Kristina and she has three little girls. She's golden and very very receptive to what we have to share with her shell be getting a baptism date this Friday so pray for her that she'll accept.
The other night we were knocking and we knocked at this door and no one answered then we started to walk away and this guy was getting things out of the back of his car so I went up and talked to him and told him about how families can be together forever he said he didn't know if he believed in god. I asked him why and he said skepticism. I said what if I had experiment you could do to KNOW god was there (Moroni 10:4-5) ? he replied that he would love to try it , and he invited us in .I testified to him for a good thirty minutes about how god exists and how he can know for himself. he invited us back over this week to teach him and his wife. it was an amazing experience!
Another great experience I had ,I was on the bus and behind me sitting were two Korean girls and one of them was talking about how she doesn't know the purpose to this life and where we go when we die and all the golden questions we as missionaries love to hear! The spirit was punching me in my soul to talk to this girl so we got off at her bus stop and my companion was a little confused but I didn't have time to tell him why.  I ran after the girl and told her what we do as missionaries and she wanted answers we told her we could answer all her questions. She gave us her details and were going back this week to teach her and her family. this week is another testimony builder to me .  I know God is preparing people to receive the gospel and that he is putting people in my path so I can talk to them! I'm so thankful for the spirit and how it guides and directs us to the things we need to be doing! I love this gospel with all my heart I know its true and the book of Mormon is he word of god I'm so thankful to be on my mission and I know this is where I'm supposed to be! I love you all !

Hello Everyone!
Everything here in Kingston is going very well my companion Elder Rasmussen got moved and i got a new companion , his name is Elder Botta hes from Italy! Hes in my MTC group so were both really young and now i am follow up training him and I'm leading the area! It seemed like a lot on my plate but i know the lord wouldn't be asking me to do this if he didn't think i could do it, i know hes going to help me! but yeah that's all that's been going on so far nothing to exciting except this week i was washing my sheets and i lifted them up and this Ginormous spider flew on me it was so big i screamed like a little girl . If some of you don't know I'm deathly afraid of spiders so when this happened i was freaking out and i put it under a jar and killed it! then last night i was walking i stepped on this black thing and i thought it was a snake and i jumped and screamed again... i really need to man up and stop being afraid of little things but hey ohh well... all of our baptismal dates have dropped because they weren't ready but that's okay we will get them ready this week and they will be back on track! were hoping to get at least two baptisms this transfer! that's a big goal but we know we can accomplish it! This week i have been really studying hard into doctrine that has strengthened my testimony so much! I've been reading Jesus the Christ and its so amazing to get to know our Savior and redeemer Jesus Christ i know he lives and i know he is the head of this church! i know we have a prophet today who leads and guides us and he does receive revelation from god! this is the true church and I'm so thankful to have a testimony and to be on a mission its the best thing in the world! i know our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and he does answer them. I'm thankful for the atonement in my lives and for the plan of salvation and i know i can be with my family for eternity! Im glad you are all doing great.... time is going by too fast though on my mission, can you slow it down a bit??

Hello Mom and Dad,  how are you guys doing today? well this week was amazing! yesterday I had another baptism! it was so amazing she was baptised by her cousin who just got back from his mission! the ward showed up and prepared food and there was like 50-60 people there at her baptism it was insane! and her parents were there and they are not members but they definitely felt the spirit and we got to teach them about tithing and we tied it into Joseph smith.  They are amazing people and they would make amazing church members so were still working on them! so were really excited for her , she even had a calling before she was baptised ha ha. Before her baptism we had to go clean out the baptismal font and we filled it up wit water and soap and I came into the top of the font and my comp didn't know he had spilled soap so i walked in and fell down the stairs one by one into the water ha ha it was the funniest thing ever! he took a picture of me.. but at least it was holy water right? lol  This week as we went to visit the Kings , we walked up to their door and there were these kids outside playing and they were chanting the most rude things I've ever heard and mocking Jesus Christ and us as missionaries. There was an older kid who was the worst probably about 13 or so and then the rest were younger than him yet they were still chanting.. i got a SMALL taste of how Jesus Christ felt as he was being mocked before he was crucified.. I started to cry.  I felt how he must have felt and I cant comprehend how he went through it .. that little bit was even too much for me to handle I just broke down and I became even more thankful for the sacrifice he made for us and all he went through. I know he is the head of this church and that this is the truth and my job is to find his sheep for him and bring them back to the fold.  This week we have been talking to this Muslim man and he tries to bash with us a lot but as he was explaining the Koran to us and the rest of his religion and beliefs, I realized the one thing they are lacking is the truth ... and our church has it. They are just confused, and everything about our church , the gospel, plan of salvation , everything just makes sense to me and i know that this is the true church plain and simple. i love you guys thanks for all you do for me and thanks for getting me on my mission! love you guys talk to you later!
